Nigeria’s Super Eagles players performed well for their English club sides in the match day 1 of the Barclay’s English Premier League.

Frank Onyeka was part of the Brentford side that defeated Arsenal FC in the opening match on Friday night.

Wilfried Ndidi featured from the start while Kelechi Iheanacho was a substitute as Leicester City beat Wolverhampton Wanderers, coming from their community shield win over Manchester city, last weekend.

Alex Iwobi had an assist in Everton’s 3-1 win over Southampton at the Goodison Park.

Super Eagles trio of Emmanuel Dennis, Oghenekaro Etebo and captain, William Troost-Ekong were the high flyers as Watford FC beat Aston Villa 3-2.

Etebo and Dennis who scored a goal and had an assist on his debut were nominated for the man of the match alongside Ibrahima Sarr.
