Review: Reminisce Gives Update about Life in ‘Omo x100’ Song

Nigerian indigenous rapper, Remilekun Safaru aka Reminisce, recently dropped a song titled ‘Omo x100’ to show that he’s still very relevant in the music industry after a while out. ‘Alaga Ibile’ as he’s also known, has to feature fellow indigenous act, Olamide Baddo, on this one.
I can’t really remember the last time Reminisce dropped a song except for collaborations. He then came through with a 2 minutes and few seconds track. But wait! Why is it that many artistes now drop short songs even if it has another artiste on it? Are they trying not to waste their data or something? Huh! Well, the artiste made his claims known in the minutes he has to deliver but not enough for me.
Another shocker in this track is Olamide pulling a Jay-Z or Kanye West’s superstar vs. upcoming stunts in this song. The YBNL boss only mentioned ‘Omo’ 24 times as the song’s hook and that is all. Many would have expected the ‘Wo’ crooner to add his street-inspired lines on this one.
Well, Reminisce was there to tell his tales in ‘Omo x100’ as he gave update about his life. Who else has forgotten Kemi Adetiba’s ‘King of Boys’ movie? Well, the Nollywood movie’s lead cast gave us a reminder as well as his recent deal. He stated, ‘Daddy yin o retire, o n se sport e, daddy yin o retire, o n se film ni’.
Who else can believe that the rugged street rapper could become a family man? Baba Hafusa cannot but say he has been spending his time out of the music scene with his wife. Then, just like every other Nigerian, the rapper has concerns over the insecurity in the nation as his kids resume back to school. He said, ‘Boko Haram, kidnapper, ESN, OPC, bandits, IPOB, kilode gan, shey kosi?’
The flow of the Hip-Hop beat was, however, cut short. If Reminisce has decided to drop a song after a while out for his teeming supporters, then he should have made it long lasting. I mean more minutes of his flows even if Olamide can’t stop to say ‘Omo’ till infinity without giving us another line to be added to the street lingua.
