Solomon Dalung, a former Minister of Sports and Youth Development, has commented on the worsening issue of insecurity in the country.
The Plateau State born ex-minister blamed political elites for the worsening insecurity, mutual suspicion, hatred and mistrust among Nigerians.
Dalung made this known while speaking at the first National Conference of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), Bauchi State chapter, with the theme “Insecurity, Economic Growth and Governance Triangle: Nigeria in Focus” held in Bauchi.
According to the former Minister, the trend had continued to put the lives of innocent citizens in danger on a daily basis.
He stated that unless such bad leaders eschewed sentiments and reset their cultural values, the security challenges bedeviling the nation will be difficult to surmount.
It is not a news that Nigeria has been rocked with insecurity more than ever before with the emergence of Boko Haram, bandits, kidnappers, and so on.
Solomon Dalung was made Nigeria’s minister of Youth and sports in the first tenure of President Muhammadu Buhari before he was replaced by Sunday Dare.
